Police have released images of a man they are searching for in connection with a housebreaking incident from a city centre restaurant in June. At around 9:45pm on Thursday June 29th a man broke into a restaurant on Queen Street using the back door.

The man fled the scene with items totalling a four-figure value. He then returned later in the evening to take more in the early hours of Friday 30th.

Now police have released CCTV images in the hope the public can identify the man they are looking for and help with their enquiries.

He is described as wearing a dark Nike tracksuit, bright green and orange Nike Airmax trainers, a black North Face jacket and a blue and orange woollen hat.

Constable Rachelle Logue from Baird Street police station said: "I would appeal to anyone who recognises the man in the images to please get in touch as they may be able to assist the enquiry team."

Anyone who has information is being urged to contact Baird Street police station on 101 and ask for the constable.
