CCTV appeal following serious assault in Glasgow

A 34-year-old male was seriously assaulted on a footpath on the Gallowgate in July this year.

Police Scotland has issued a CCTV image of a man they believe may be able to assist them with an ongoing investigation into an assault that took place in the summer.

The attack happened on a footpath on the Gallowgate, near to the junction with Melbourne Street in the city at around 9pm on the 23rd of July this year.

It left a 34-year-old man with serious head injuries, and he was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Detective Constable Jamie Whitton said: “It is believed the man pictured may be able to assist with us with our enquiries.

“The man is described as being between 30-35 years old with a tanned complexion. He is around 5ft 10ins in height, strong build. He was wearing an orange t-shirt and blue shorts.

“I am appealing to the man or any members of the public who may recognise him to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 1641 of 29 July, 2021. Alternatively, calls can be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
