Detectives in Clydebank are appealing for information after a caravan and two cars were deliberately set on fire in the Dumbarton area.

The first incident occurred at around 10pm on Friday 30 June when a caravan was set on fire whilst parked in Upper Carman Road, Dumbarton. There was no-one within the caravan at this time and enquiries have revealed that there was a man aged around late 20’s to early 30’s seen near the caravan shortly before the fire and who then drove off in a dark coloured car. Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity around this time, especially the taxi drivers who were parked nearby shortly before the fire occurred.

The other two incidents happened at 4am on Saturday 1 July when a Vauxhall Corsa car and Volkswagen Golf car were set alight whilst parked in Cardross Road, Dumbarton near to St Michaels Primary School.

Detective Constable Ross Kelly at Clydebank CID said

“At this time we do not believe that the caravan incident is linked to the vehicle fires in Cardross Road, however it is vital that we catch those responsible for such senseless crimes that causes misery to innocent people who have had their property destroyed.”

Anyone who has any information that could assist our investigations is asked to contact CID at Clydebank via telephone number 101 or alternatively calls can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
