Detective Inspector Alan MacDonald from Cambuslang CID, said: "Since my earlier appeal, we have received very little information from the public. If you have any information about this brazen attack or who may be responsible please get in touch.
"I am also able to say that the car involved, which was found burnt-out in Cathkin Road near to the golf course around 7.00pm was a BMW 420i. It had been stolen from the Newton Mearns area on Thursday, 11 October 2018. If you have any information about who stole the car or its movements since it was stolen in October please come forward.
"I am keeping an open mind about why the man was targeted but, I am content that this was not a random attack and he was the intended victim."
The shooting happened around 5.30pm as the 37-year-old man waited within a white Peugeot van in the car park of Taylors Veterinary Practice in East Kilbride Road. The, now burnt-out, car pulled up and a man, wearing a high vis vest got out of the vehicle and shot the victim through the window. The injured man drove to the nearby Blue Rupee restaurant and raised the alarm.
Detective Inspector MacDonald continued: "Our increased high-visibility re-assurance patrols are continuing in the area and our extensive enquiries are ongoing. I am re-iterating my appeal for anyone who was in the vicinity of Taylors Veterinary Practice between 5.15pm and 5.45pm, or Cathkin Road near to the golf club between 5.15pm and 7.15pm, to contact police if they saw or heard anything at all suspicious.
