Car deliberately set on fire in Cumbernauld

No injuries have been reported.

Police in Cumbernauld are investigating after a white Suzuki Alto was deliberately set on fire last night.

The incident happened at 11.30pm on Langlands Place and fire crews managed to bring the blaze under control and put it out.

There are no reports of injuries.

Detective Constable Niccolo Gamberi said: “Thankfully no one was hurt during this incident however, it could’ve ended much worse if the fire had spread to vehicles parked nearby.”

Police are asking anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage from the area at the time of the fire to review it and provide any relevant information.
