Car set on fire in a Kilmarnock street

Detectives are appealing for information after a car was set on fire whilst parked outside a house in Kilmarnock on Thursday 31 August 2017.

Around 1:40am, police were called to the scene in Glassock Road in Onthank.

The fire was extinguished however, the car – a Nissan Note – was extensively damaged and the outside of the house was also damaged by the fire.

The two men officers wish to trace are described as around 5ft 10 inches in height and of medium to heavy build.

Both were wearing grey hooded tops with dark coloured trousers and possibly made off in a dark coloured vehicle on Tourhill Road.

Detective Constable Martin Fraser of Kilmarnock Police Office said: 'Luckily no one was injured during this incident, however the fire has caused extensive damage.

'I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the local area early on Thursday morning to contact Kilmarnock Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 0170.
