Police appeal for witnesses after car set on fire in Linwood

It happened around 10:25pm on bonfire night

There's an appeal for information after a car was set on fire in Linwood.

A Citroen C2 crashed into a lamppost before four teenagers, aged between 15 and 19 set it on fire, fled the scene.

It happened shortly before ten thirty on Saturday night on Stirling Drive close to the junction with Merchison Avenue.

The first suspect is described as a white, male of slim build with dark hair. He was wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and a black hoodie.

The second suspect is a white male, around 5ft 6ins, of slim build, and wearing dark tracksuit bottoms.

The third suspect is described as a female, of medium build and fair hair. She was wearing a light blue denim playsuit.

The fourth suspect is described as female, of slim build, with long dark hair. She was wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and a white hoodie.

Detective Sergeant Jason Buxton of Paisley CID said: “We are conducting a thorough investigation into this incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“If you were in the Stirling Drive area and witnessed the crash and fire, or you have potential dash-cam or CCTV footage that may assist us in our enquiries, please get in touch with police.”
