Two injured after car explodes outside Crosshouse Hospital

A man and a woman are being treated for injuries after a car exploded outside Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.

Emergency services were called out to the incident at around 2.30pm on Tuesday.

An investigation into the incident is now under way, but officers say the early indications are that it does not appear to be suspicious.

A statement on the Ayrshire Police social media channels said: “Emergency services are currently dealing with an incident outside Crosshouse Hospital where a car exploded around 2.30pm.

A man and a woman are being treated in hospital.

Enquiries into the cause are ongoing however there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.”
