Car set on fire in deliberate attack in Bothwell

Officers are appealing for information after a car was set on fire in the driveway of a property in Bothwell.

The incident happened in Reen Place around 11.30pm on Tuesday.

A black Volvo XC90 was set alight.

The fire was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no one was injured.

Detective Constable Joe Todd said: “We are treating this fire as wilful and our enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.

“We are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious before or after the incident to get in touch.

“In addition, if you were driving in the area please check any dash-cam footage for information that could help with our investigation. Likewise if you have private CCTV.”
