Car deliberately set ablaze and destroyed in Hamilton
Information is sought about two suspects involved

A car was set ablaze during the early hours of this morning in Hamilton but concerned locals stepped in to scare off two suspects involved.
Around 3.50am on Monday 22 July 2019, officers were called to a report of a BMW car set on fire outside a house in Bourtree Road, Hamilton. Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called and put out the flames, however the car was completely destroyed by the fire.
The pair also tried to set alight a transit van in the same street, however this was unsuccessful and the two suspects made off when disturbed by residents.
The two men responsible as described as in their 20s and were wearing dark coloured clothing with their hoods up. They may have made off from the scene in a light-coloured car which was last seen on Bourtree Road, heading towards Rederech Crescent around the time of the incident.
Detective Constable Craig Jolly of Cambuslang Police Office said: “Enquiries are at an early stage to establish more details on the circumstances surrounding this incident, and to identify those responsible.
“We have been carrying out enquiries in the local area and gathering CCTV footage from the area to study and establish more details that will assist our investigation.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed anything suspicious, or who has information that may help our enquiries to contact Cambuslang Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 0411 of 22nd July."
