77-year-old woman in hospital after Paisley car crash

Officers are appealing for information after the smash on Barnsford Road

A 77-year-old woman is in critical condition in hospital, after a car crash in Paisley yesterday.

Road Policing Officers are now appealing for information following the serious collision on Barnsford Road.

The incident happened around 5pm on Tuesday, 9 January, 2024, and involved a silver Nissan Micra and a white Kia Rio.

Emergency services attended, and a 77-year-old woman, the driver of the Nissan Micra, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

The driver of the Kia Rio, a 39-year-old woman, was also taken to hospital for treatment.

The road was closed while enquiries took place and re-opened around 9.10pm on Tuesday, 9 January, 2024.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or who was in the area around the time to contact us.

“In particular, if you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation, please get in touch.”
