Car crashes into bank branch in Johnstone

A car has crashed into a bank in Johnstone town centre after mounting a pavement.

It happened just after 11am on Monday 20 July at a Bank of Scotland branch in the Renfrewshire town.

The male driver, who was the only occupant, was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital as a “precaution”.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We received a report of a road traffic collision on High Street, Johnstone, around 11.10am on Monday July 20.

“A Nissan Juke collided with a building and the male driver has been taken to the Royal Alexendra Hospital as a precaution.”

The Bank of Scotland has been contacted for comment.
