Taxi driver charged after cab struck four women in Glasgow city centre

A 62-year-old man has been charged after a black cab was in collision with four pedestrians.

The incident occurred on Union Street, at the junction with Gordon Street, in Glasgow city centre at around 1.50pm on Saturday October 5.

Three women who were pedestrians - a 60-year-old and two aged 61 - were taken to hospital for treatment while a 50-year-old woman was assessed by paramedics at the scene.

The 62-year-old driver of the taxi was also treated in hospital.

The man who police said was driving the taxi has now been charged in connection with alleged road traffic offences, Police Scotland said.

He is due to appear in court at a later date.
