Seven buses have been destroyed in a fire at a bus depot in Inverclyde.

The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday at Wilson's Buses in Greenock.

Emergency services were called to the Baker Street depot at about 1am to find a number of vehicles ablaze.

Detective Inspector David Wagstaff said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and saw or heard anything suspicious to get in touch.

"I would also ask any drivers who passed by the bus depot between 12am and 1am to check their dash cam footage in case they have captured any of the incident."

A joint investigation between the police and fire services is ongoing to establish the cause of the incident.

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given anonymously.
