Burned body found in Motherwell as police launch major probe
The human remains were discovered early on Saturday morning
A burned body has been found in Lanarkshire this morning.
Police are on the scene in Margaret Drive in Motherwell near football pitches after the human remains were discovered around 9 am.
A major investigation has been launched as officers try to find out what happened. They are currently treating the death as unexplained.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9am on Saturday, 24 February, 2024 a body was discovered in the Margaret Drive area of Motherwell.
“Officers are at the scene. The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
