A man's been treated for a broken ankle after he was assaulted by a motorist outside Glasgow Central on Sunday night.

Police say the 20-year-old accidentally walked in front of a black saloon-style car on Gordon Street around 8.30pm on Sunday 17 September, which caused the driver to slam on the brakes.

The man chapped on the vehicle’s window before the motorist got out and kicked him before driving off again.

He's described as black, in his early 20s with short hair at the back and sides and a quiff at the front.

The pedestrian was initially helped by officers from British Transport Police but he declined to attend hospital at the time.

He was seen at Glasgow Royal Infirmary the following day where he was treated for a broken ankle.

Constable Derek Cameron at Stewart Street Police Office is appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to contact him via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 1595 of 17 September.

Alternatively, calls can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
