Police are appealing for information following two thefts and break-ins in the Biggar and Lanark areas.

Three men broke into a property in River View in Lanark at 2.50pm on Wednesday 29th March and stole jewellery as well as designer goods. They then left in a small white hatchback-style vehicle towards Carstairs.

Almost two weeks later, two men broke into a property on Station Road in Biggar sometime between 11.30pm on Sunday 9th April and 1.30am on Monday 10th April.

The men stole various items including jewellery and a blue BMW, which was later recovered in the Penicuik area of Midlothian.

On this occasion, the men left in the direction of Biggar Main Street in a small white hatchback style vehicle.

Detective Constable Sarah Wardlaw of CID said:

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible for both incidents. We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a small white hatchback-style vehicle around the time of the incidents. I would appeal to motorists with dash-cam footage to get in touch, you may have captured something that could assist our enquiries.”
