Teens robbed by gang in Hamilton
Police appeal for information
TWO teenage boys have been badly shaken after being robbed by a gang of youths in Hamilton last night
The victims, aged 17 and 18, were walking in Douglas Park Lane, which runs behind Hamilton West Train Station, around 7.15pm when they were approached by a group of around five males.
The group threatened the boys with violence and robbed them of their personal belongings.
The suspects made off in the direction of Hamilton Academical Football Ground.
They are described as aged between 16 and 21, one was wearing a blue jacket and grey jogging bottoms and the others were wearing dark clothing with face masks. Two are believed to have been in possession of bicycles.
Detective Constable Steven Totten from Cambuslang CID said: “Members of the public who were passing by came to the assistance of the victims, who were left badly shaken by what happened.
“This type of aggressive and intimidating behaviour is not acceptable and I am appealing to anyone, who can assist us in identifying the individuals involved, to come forward.
“If you were in the area and noticed a group matching the above description, or anything at all suspicious, please get in touch.
