Bothwell and Uddingston Men's Shed targeted by vandals
They destroyed the water tank and ruined an outdoor storage area.
Members of Bothwell and Uddingston Men's Shed are telling us they are devastated after vandals targeted their building at the weekend.
They climbed the roof and destroyed the water tank as well as pulling bits of wood out of an outdoor storage area and throwing them all over the ground.
Chairman Joe Kennedy told Clyde 1: "They took the water tank off and it is now lying at an angle and the lagging has been ripped off and is now open to the weather.
"This is not something we can fix ourselves because of health and safety rules.
"I am less concerned about the cost and more worried about any imminent damage that could be caused by the weather."
The group is now appealing to the better nature of tradesmen and women across the area to help them fix the roof and provide spare lagging.
Joe added: "Up to 40 guys use this facility every week and they are from all different kinds of backgrounds.
"We are now without water which means they can't even come in, boil the kettle and sit down for a cup of tea."
