Bomb squad called to Linwood after discovery of 'unexploded device'
Police say it has been safely removed and no one was injured
A bomb squad was called into a Linwood industrial estate after an unexploded device was discovered in the area.
One local business was evacuated and a cordon was in place around Burnbrae Drive just after 9 o'clock this morning.
The Explosive Ordnance Department attended the scene and safely removed the device, reporting that no one was hurt.
Police Scotland said: Around 9.05am on Tuesday, 24 September 2024, police were called after a device – thought to be an old ordnance device – was found in Burnbrae Dr, Linwood.
“The EOD – Explosive Ordnance Department – attended and the device was safely removed from the area.
“Staff have been allowed to return to their work and local roads are now open.”
