A bomb disposal team has been sent to an area of Clydebank following reports of a suspicious package.

It's after officers were called to Kilbowie Road around 12.15pm on Thursday.

Police were initially responding to reports of concern for a person

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called around 12.15pm to Kilbowie Street, Clydebank, following reports of a suspicious package.

"Emergency services, including EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), attended, enquiries were carried out and there was found to be no risk to the public.

"Nearby buildings were evacuated and the local train station was closed as a precaution, but later reopened.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Friday, 19 March 2021. "
