Bomb Alert Package In Wishaw Declared 'Safe'
A bomb disposal team has been stood down after a suspicious package found at a house in Wishaw was declared safe. Police were called to the property in Coldstream Crescent in the North Lanarkshire town at around midday. An explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team was called in to check the package and decided that it posed no threat. There were no evacuations in the area and police said inquiries are continuing into the package. A force spokesman said: Officers requested support from an EOD team to assess a suspect package within a property on Coldstream Crescent, Wishaw."
Upon further investigation of the package it was determined that the package did not pose a threat." The EOD team stood down at approximately 4.30pm and police enquiries continue. At no time was anyone required to evacuate from the area.''
