Body found in search for missing Saltcoats man

Formal identification's yet to take place but Corry Ferguson's family have been informed.

Police searching for a missing 26-year-old man from Saltcoats have found a body.

The discovery was made at around 6-45am on Friday in Irvine Beach Park.

Formal identification's yet to take place but Corry Ferguson's family have been informed.

His death's being treated as unexplained, but it's not thought to be suspicious.

Around 6.45am on Friday, 18 March, 2022, the body of a man was found on the beach at Irvine Beach Park.

Police Scotland has released this statement:

"Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of Corry Ferguson (26), who has been missing from the Saltcoats area since Tuesday, 1 March, have been informed."

"Enquiries into the death are at an early stage. It is currently being treated as unexplained but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances. "
