Body found in search for missing Glasgow woman

Police believe the body of a woman reported missing in Glasgow earlier this week has been found in Milngavie. 35-year-old Sophie Johnston hadn't been seen since leaving her home in Partick on Monday at 8.30am.

The woman of a woman was found near Baldernock Crescent in Milngavie at 10.15 on Tuesday morning.

While formal identification is yet to take place, police have informed Sophie's family.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be forwarded to the procurator fiscal.
