Body found in search for missing man from Renton

Formal identification is still to take place but Jamie Gardiner's family have been made aware

The body of a man has been recovered from a river in West Dunbartonshire.

The discovery was made in the River Leven in the Glasgow Road area of Dumbarton around 10.45am today.

Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of Jamie Gardiner, reported missing from Renton, have been made aware.

The 47-year-old was last seen at Renton Train station last week.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances, and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
