Police have sealed off a street in Glasgow city centre after finding a man's body.

The 55 year old was discovered on Granville Street, near Charing Cross, at around around 4.30am on Wednesday, 28 April.

The road is currently closed at North Street into Berkeley Street and at Sauchiehall Street into Granville Street.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a sudden death on Granville Street, Glasgow, around 4.30am on Wednesday, 28 April.

"A 55-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. This is currently being treated as unexplained however enquiries are at an early stage.

"Anyone with information about the incident should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 0287 of 28th April."
