Body of a man found at Castlemilk disturbance

It has emerged the body of a man was found at the scene of a disturbance in Castlemilk this morning. Police were called to a flat in Raithburn Road at around 4:40am where they found the man, thought to be in his 40s.

Two women and eight children were also taken to hospital. The two women received treatment and were released. The children were taken to hospital as a precaution only and then released.

A 41-year old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Enquiries in to the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing and police are appealing to anyone who was in the area, who may have seen or heard the disturbance take place, or indeed, has any info they think may assist officers with their enquries, contact the CID at Cathcart Police Station via 101. Please quote incident 0325/03/04/18 when calling.

"Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

"Additional police officers are in the area and they can be spoken to by anyone with information or concerns."
