Two arrested in Bishopbriggs following gun and drugs discovery

Cocaine and heroin with a street value of £10,000 were discovered in two searches in the area

Two people have been arrested and £10,000 worth of drugs and a gun seized in two police raids in Bishopbriggs.

Officers stopped a car in Crowhill Road in the town around 7pm on Monday and found cash and cocaine with a street value of £5,000.

A house was then searched under warrant in Crowhill Quadrant where cocaine and heroin with a street value of £5,000, a gun, ammunition and a quantity of cash were recovered.

A 26-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were arrested and detained in police custody in connection with the find.

Detective Inspector Fergus Hutcheson from Stewart Street CID said: “Our specialist officers are committed to working daily to target those involved in serious and organised crime.

“We will not tolerate this criminal activity in any form and would encourage local communities to continue to assist us by coming forward with information.

The pair are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court later.
