A campaign has been launched to raise issues surrounding homelessness in Britain.

A range of celebrities have been out on the street this week promoting the campaign, including Nasi Manu, Allan Dell and Alex Toolis from Edinburgh Rugby.

The campaign, organised by the International Network of Street Papers, is designed to promote the 11,000 street vendors that sell magazines such as the Big Issue to make a better life for themselves.

Laura Dunlop, Communications Manager at the International Network of Street Papers, says that homelessness "is a huge issue... It's become even more of an issue since the 2008 crash."

"It's a way for every single one of them to turn their lives around, and work their way out of poverty."

Glasgow street vendor Robert Brownridge, who has been selling Big Issue magazines for 15 years, says that the campaign highlights how people can improve their lives by selling magazines.

"It helps people who are homeless or vulnerably housed to improve their lives, and survive in a lot of cases."
