A Bearsden man is going all out with Christmas decorations this year to raise money for Cash For Kids.

Dave Travers has filled his front garden with festive lights in the form of Santa, snowmen and reindeer.

He also has a special QR code where people can give to Clyde 1's charity - Cash For Kids.

Our mission is to improve the lives of children and disadvantaged young people in our communities.

He said: "The lights are something I have done everything year, but this has got to be the biggest.

"I listen to Clyde 1 regularly and I know how much work goes into helping children across the country.

"It is sad that, in this day and age, we have families struggling to make ends meet or put food on the table and don't even have basic necessities.

"I am in a lucky position where my son doesn't need to worry about this, but there are so many children out there who don't know anything other than poverty.

"I want to make that one day a year different for them, I want to make sure they wake up to a present, a hot meal and some clothing.

"That is really important to me."

Dave claims he is a big kid at heart at this time of year, but he really enjoys making other people in his community feel good.

"To see people's faces light up just by me putting up some lights and crazy inflatables is nothing short of incredible.

"It is especially good to see kids happy because they are ultimately the ones I am trying to cheer up.

"Christmas should be about families, friends and loved ones, but unfortunately not everyone has that.

"There have been a few people message me who don't have a family of their own to say that these decorations still make them happy.

"It's all about trying to help people forget about what is going on around in them in these dark times, even if it is just for a minute."
