Man attacked by armed gang in Battlefield

Police have made a fresh appeal for witnesses after a man was ambushed by an armed gang in Glasgow’s southside.
The 37-year-old needed hospital treatment after he was attacked in his car by four men armed with knives.
Police say the assault in Battlefield around 7pm on January 2nd was ‘targeted’.
He was in a Citroen Berlingo parked on Lochleven Road at its junction with Dundrennan Road when he was attacked.
The gang made off in a 17 plate grey BMW 3 series.
Police discovered the injured man and he was take to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was treated for minor injuries before being released.
The same BMW car was found on fire at Linn Park Golf Club at 7.30pm.
It had false number plates and had previously been reported stolen from Giffnock.
Detective Sergeant Craig Warren said: “Extensive enquiries are continuing into this incident and officers have been carrying out enquiries in the local area and studying CCTV footage to identify the four men responsible.
“We believe that this was a targeted attack. This is a busy area and I would urge any witnesses to the incident, who have not yet spoken to officers, to come forward as they may have vital information that will assist our investigation.
“I would also urge anyone who saw a grey coloured BMW 3 series being driven through the Battlefield or Linn Park areas to contact us too.''
