Man in hospital after being shot in 'targeted attack' in Glasgow

A man is being treated in hospital after being shot in the Baillieston area of Glasgow in the early hours of Saturday, 15 January.

The 31-year-old was found seriously injured in Barony Drive at around 12.10am.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, before being transferred to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

'Targeted attack'

Roads in the area have now reopened, however police patrols continue as enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Andy Wright said: “This was a targeted attack and the 31-year-old man would appear to be the intended victim, however we realise that such incidents do cause alarm.

"I would like to reassure the local community that everything is being done to trace whoever is responsible.

“If you were in the area at the time and have not already spoken to police, we would urge you to come forward.”
