A baby girl has been treated in hospital after she was injured by a brick that was thrown through a bus window in Glasgow.

It happened at around 6.45pm on Tuesday in Battlefield Road.

The 15-month-old was with her mum when the brick came through the window of the bus. It landed in her pram, hitting her on the head. Broken glass from the window also landed in the pram.

The baby was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be checked over and later released.

Detective Inspector Darren Munogee said: “Fortunately the baby was not seriously injured but this has left her mother extremely upset and distressed.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who saw or knows the person who threw the brick to get in touch.

“In addition, anyone on the bus who has not already spoken to officers is asked to get in touch.”

Anyone who can assist officers are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2784 of Tuesday, 10 January, 2023, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
