Ayrshire rapist who bragged about attacking victim jailed.
A rapist who boasted about attacking a woman has been jailed for four years. Donald McLeod attacked his victim at a house in Ayr, South Ayrshire in October 2015. The 37 year-old was today sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow.
He had earlier been convicted of raping the woman to her injury after a trial in Paisley.
Lord Mulholland told McLeod: "When she said 'no', you should stop. You did not.
"You bragged about it to work colleagues - that and the victim's evidence was your undoing."
The hearing was told McLeod, also of Ayr, had "apologised" to the woman after the attack.
But, this was for any injury he may have caused rather than admitting to the rape.
Billy Lavelle, defending, said McLeod had latterly been employed as a machine operator for a firm based at Prestwick Airport.
The solicitor advocate added: "This is out of character. He is a hard working individual.
"He does have some insight into the offence, but maintains the position (of denial) as he did at trial."
McLeod was also put on the sex offenders list.
