Police in Glasgow hunt for man after attempted robbery of heavily pregnant woman

The woman in her 20s was stood at a bus stop on Easterhouse Road when the suspect tried to take her phone and handbag.

Detectives in Glasgow are trying to track down a man they believe was responsible for the attempted robbery of a heavily pregnant woman on Monday 21 June. The incident happened at around 9:25am when the 23-year-old woman was stood at the bus stop on Easterhouse Road near to its junction with Aberdalgie Road.

The suspect then approached and asked to use her phone. He then tried to take the phone and her handbag before running away in the direction of a footpath of Denmilne Street.

He's described as white, aged around 40, 5 ft 5 inches tall, slim with dark blond short hair and facial hair.

He spoke with an Ayrshire accent and was wearing black trousers, a black hooded jumper and black trainers.

Detective Constable Poppy Stewart, of Glasgow's Robbery Unit, said: "The victim is heavily pregnant and was thankfully not injured during what must have been a distressing incident for her.

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the Easterhouse Road area around 9.25am this morning and witnessed the attempted robbery or saw a male suspect matching this description to get in touch.

"If you were driving in the area and have a dash-cam, please check back and see if there is any footage that could assist our investigation. Those with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 0730 of 21 June."
