Police think burned-out car is linked to Glasgow murder bid

Police are appealing for information following an attempted murder in Maryhill of a man they think is linked to a burned-out car.

The incident happened around 4.15pm yesterday on Dawsholm Road where a man was found seriously injured.

Emergency services attended and the 41-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment.

Extensive enquiries have been ongoing with detectives working alongside local uniformed officers who are interested in speaking to anyone who has information surrounding a burnt-out car that may be linked to the incident.

It was reported that a black Ford Kuga vehicle was found on a cycle track near Kelso Street and Dumbarton Road, Glasgow around 4.25pm yesterday.

Detective Inspector Craig Warren, of Police Scotland’s CID Unit, said: “A man has sustained serious injuries as a result of this attack, and we are appealing for information to help trace those responsible.

“There would have been members of the public in the area at the time of the incident and we are asking anyone with information to come forward and assist with our investigation.

“We believe this incident to be targeted and there is no threat to the wider public.

“A black Ford Kuga vehicle was found burnt out on a cycle path near Kelso Street and Dumbarton Road and we believe this may be linked to the incident.

“I would ask if you were in the area at the time and noticed this vehicle or anyone acting suspicious near Dawsholm or Dumbarton Road, that you come forward and speak to police.

“If there are any motorist with dashcam footage that could assist with our enquiries, please get in touch with officers.”
