Man arrested over murder bid of police officer in Clydebank

A man has been arrested after allegedly trying to kill a police officer in Clydebank last night.

The force was called to a pub on the town’s Glasgow Road around 9.25pm over reports of a man with a weapon.

They managed to take the 52-year-old into custody and he was charged with attempted murder. There were no injuries.

The man is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday

Detective Inspector Kevin Mulvenna said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing, and I would ask anyone who was in the area around this time to contact us.

"In addition, we believe that the incident has been captured by members of the public who were there at the time and I would urge them to get in touch and share this footage with us.”
