Man arrested after huge police response to incident at Bothwell bar

There’s been a massive police presence in Lanarkshire after a reported incident at a restaurant and bar yesterday.

Several police vehicles raced to the scene at the Cricklewood in Bothwell in the early evening which startled local residents.

The cars and vans had to bump up on the pavement outside the premises as officers went in to deal with what they’re calling ‘a disturbance’.

One man was arrested and charged, and a report has gone to the procurator fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a disturbance at a premises on Hamilton Road, Bothwell, around 5.45pm on Friday, 31 May, 2024.

“Officers attended and a 39-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection. He is the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.”
