Police want to speak to anyone who saw a white Audi deliberately drive another car off the road in Glasgow at the weekend.

It hit a white Nissan Juke on Gartloch Road at 6:30 on Saturday morning.

When police arrived they found a gun and the Juke and the 29 year old driver was then charged with various driving offences, after being treated in hospital.

He was then arrested and charged with various road traffic offenses and firearms offences.

He was due to appear in Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday.

Enquiries suggest that the Audi and the Nissan Juke were in the Bargeddie Street area driving erratically and may have travelled to Gartloch Road together between the time of the two incidents.

Inspector Craig Warren, London Police Office, said: “Our officers have been carrying out enquiries since the road traffic collision and we now believe that the vehicles were driving at speed from Bargeddie Street and into Gartloch Road before colliding in Avenue End Road. We are trying to establish if the firearm recovered from Nissan Juke was connected to this incident"

"This incident appears to be an isolated one, however this does not take away from how serious this is.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen these two vehicles, possibly driving erratically, between Bargeddie Street and Gartloch Road before 6.30 am on Saturday morning.

“Think back, you may have heard or seen something that can help us. We would also ask for anyone with any dash-cam footage that could help us to come forward.

“Something which may seem insignificant to you at the time, may be the information we need.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 3582 of Saturday 2 March 2019. Alternatively you can contact CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where information can be given in confidence.
