Michael Matheson's in Glenrothes for the course, which 17,500 officers will have received by the end of May.
Around 80% of calls they respond to now relate to mental health issues or suicide prevention.
The visit forms part of Police Scotland’s Policing 2026 consultation which recognises that one in four people suffer from a mental health issue every year and underlined their role in working with vulnerable people and people in crisis.
