Armed police spotted in Toryglen following reports of man with weapon
Police officers and helicopters have been circling the area since this morning.
Armed police have been seen in Toryglen this afternoon, after a man was reportedly seen with a weapon in the Prospecthill Circus area this morning.
Pictures and videos online show armed police officers and helicopters circling the area, and reports suggest a man reportedly walked into a building there.
Parents of children at a nursery within the premises are being reassured as the search continues in the wider area.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10am on Wednesday, 7 July, we received a report of a man in possession of what appeared to be a weapon in the Prospecthill Circus area of Glasgow.
"Officers are in attendance carrying out enquiries and providing reassurance to the community.
"Anyone who may have been in the area and saw anything which might help with enquiries is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 0825 of 7 July."
