Armed police deal with major disturbance in Ayrshire

Firearms officers have been called to a property in an Ayrshire town amid reports of a "disturbance".

Police said they received a report of an injured man at a property on Cross Street, Galston, at about 8.05am.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers remain at the property where police said there is a "disturbance" involving a second man.

Police described the incident as "contained", and said armed officers are in attendance as a "precaution".

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.05am on Saturday June 28 2025 we received a report of man having been injured at a property on Cross Street, Galston.

"He was taken to hospital for treatment.

"Officers are in attendance at the property where there is a subsequent disturbance involving a second man.

"This is a contained incident and firearms officers are in attendance as a precaution.

"Inquiries are ongoing. Officers will remain in the area and anyone with concerns can approach them."
