Armed gang attack man and steal car in Glasgow carpark
Detectives are appealing for information after a man was assaulted and robbed of his vehicle within a carpark in Glasgow.
Detectives are appealing for information after a man was assaulted and robbed of his vehicle within a carpark in Glasgow.
The 27-year-old had just gotten out of his car at Firpark close around 4.30pm yesterday afternoon when he was approached by three men carrying weapons.
The group demanded the man’s car keys before striking him repeatedly on the legs with the weapons.
The men then left Firpark Close in the red three-door Vauxhall Corsa they had stolen.
The victim did not require hospital treatment.
The first man is described as white, in his mid 20’s, 5ft8, of stocky build, with short black hair and stubble. He was wearing a black jacket with blue jeans and spoke with a Scottish accent.
The second man is described as white, in his early to mid 20’s, 6ft, with dark blond hair and a scruffy beard. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans with distinctive stitching down both legs and spoke with a Scottish accent.
The third man is described as white, in his mid 20’s, 5ft10, and was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. He also spoke with a Scottish accent.
Detective Inspector Alasdair Barlow from the Community Investigation Unit based at Govan said: “An innocent man has been randomly targeted and it is absolutely vital that we trace this group of despicable individuals as soon as possible.
“I would ask anyone who was in the surrounding area yesterday afternoon, who may have seen a group of men matching the above descriptions, or a red Vauxhall Corsa in the new style, to please get in touch.
“It is also understood that the car may have been in the area of Tillycairn Road in Easterhouse and I would ask anyone who may have seen it in the area, or anything else suspicious, to contact police.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at the Community Investigation Unit based at Govan via 101 and quote incident number 2558/08. Alternatively you can call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.”
