Two men have been taken to hospital, one with serious injuries, after a fight broke out on Sauchiehall Street in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Officers think three or four people were involved in the disturbance and are combing CCTV footage.

One of the suspects is around 6ft. tall, with a slim build and bald. He was wearing a dark blue coloured jacket. Another suspect is also around 6 ft. tall with short dark hair and in his late thirties.

Officers are gathering and reviewing CCTV footage from in and around the city centre for additional information on the suspects.

Detective Constable Andy Shields said:

“We are in the process of establishing exactly what has happened and what caused the disturbance which led to the two men being assaulted. This area would have been busy with club goers and revellers and CCTV footage shows people milling about the area. I am therefore appealing to anyone who was in the area where the incident occurred to contact us. Any small piece of information could help us piece together the circumstances of what happened and help us trace those responsible.”

Anyone with information is asked to call CID officers at City Centre Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 0241 of Thursday 8 February 2018. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
