An elderly woman has been injured after three men forced their way into her Castlemilk home and robbed her last night.

The gang ransacked the house on Bowhouse Drive taking jewellery and money.

The 84 year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she's being treated for a wrist injury.

There is limited information on the three suspects – they are male and white. Enquiries carried out so far have revealed that an Audi car was seen in the area around the time of the incident. I would appeal to the occupants of the Audi to contact us as they may be able to assist us in our enquiries.

Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and are in the process of obtaining CCTV footage for any additional information.

Detective Inspector Clark Hill said:

“This has been a very frightening experience for an elderly lady in her own home. She has sustained an injury in the incident and has lost items of jewellery which are extremely precious to her.

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to think back and consider if they saw anything which seemed a little suspicious. Did you see the Audi car, did you notice three men hanging around the area? Any small piece of information could prove vital and help us identify the men responsible for this despicable crime.”

He continued: “Additional officers will be patrolling the area for reassurance and anyone with any information or concerns can approach these officers.”

Anyone with information is asked to call officers at the Robbery Unit via 101, quoting incident number 4063 of Tuesday 26 March 2019. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
