Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery at a post office in the west end of Glasgow on Wednesday.

Around 9.10pm hours a man entered Hyndland Post Office in Clarence Drive and threatened the male member of staff, demanding money.

The suspect then left the premises with a three figure sum of cash and headed in the direction of Lauderdale Gardens.

He is described as white, late 20s to mid 30s, 6ft in height, of medium build and with a beard which was trimmed. He was wearing a black half balaclava, a dark grey fleece with a white logo on the left chest area, black trousers and flat grey shoes with white laces and white soles. He also spoke with a Glasgow accent.

Detective Inspector Alasdair Barlow from the Community Investigation Unit based at Govan said:

“Thankfully nobody was hurt during this incident but it was still a very frightening experience for the member of staff and it is vital that we trace the individual responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Clarence Drive yesterday evening and noticed a man matching the above description, or anything at all suspicious, to please get in touch.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact the Community Investigation Unit based at Govan via 101, quoting incident number 3869 of Wednesday 24 January 2018. Alternatively you can call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence."
