Appeal to find missing Johnstone man

Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a 68 year-old man missing from the Johnstone area since yesterday evening, Wednesday 22 June 2016

John Adams was last confirmed at his home address on Campbell Street, Johnstone at around 2300 hours on Wednesday 22 June. This morning, relatives could not locate John and the police were immediately contacted. He is described as a white man, with a medium to stocky build and approximately 5 foot 5” in height. He has short grey hair which is receding. It is believed that he may be wearing a black jacket and black trousers. Inspector Louis Jeffrey, based out of Johnstone Police office, said today: “Our focus is to trace John safe and well. Officers are currently searching for John across the Johnstone area. We are checking available CCTV and contacting staff in local businesses to assist with the search. Specialist resources including the force helicopter and the dog unit have been deployed in order to assist with the search. “At this time we seek assistance from the public in tracing John safe and well. If anyone has any information as to his whereabouts please contact police at Johnstone police office immediately on the 101 number."
