There is an appeal for information after a fight broke out on a train between Glasgow Central and Greenock Central.

It happened on Saturday 17th December between 9.30pm and 9.50pm.

The argument involved four people and led to at least one of them being injured.

Three of the people alighted the train at Greenock Central and the fourth got off at Greenock West.

The service would have been particularly busy on the last weekend before Christmas, so officers would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

One of the men was white and of a sturdy build, wearing a pink and white shirt, smart jeans and brown boots. He suffered a laceration to the head.

Two other men were both white. One was wearing a blue t-shirt, cream tracksuit and white trainers, whilst the other was wearing a black jacket.

A woman was also believed to have been involved. She had shoulder-length hair and was wearing a pink top.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting 634 of 17/12.
