Appeal after teenager sexually assaulted on Lockerbie train

The incident is alleged to have taken place on Friday 8th February.

There is an appeal from British Transport Police after a teenager was sexually assaulted on a train between Lockerbie and Glasgow.

It happened around 9.30am on Friday 8th February.

The man is reported to have repeatedly made inappropriate comments to the woman before the assault. He left at Glasgow Central.

He is described as white, around 50 years-old, medium built with light brown and grey hear. He spoke with a Glasgow accent and was wearing a grey t-shirt and jeans.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, particularly the woman who comforted the victim after the assault and alerted train staff.
