Appeal after break-in to elderly couple's Bishopbriggs home
The couple were left badly shaken
There is an appeal for information in Bishopbriggs after an elderly couple's house was broken into in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The 80 and 78-year-old's returned to their home in Stirling Drive around 20 past midnight and were confronted by a man who stole a watch, jewellery and a four-figure sum of money.
The couple were left badly shaken.
The man responsible is described as being white, between 6' and 6'2" in height, medium build, a bald head with hair at the sides and wearing a khaki Parka-style jacket with a fur hood. He stole a watch, and other jewellery, and a four-figure sum of money.
No-one was injured, although the couple were left extremely shaken following their ordeal.
Constable Nikki Kyle, from the Housebreaking Unit based at Govan Police Office, is appealing for anyone with information to contact Police Scotland. She said:
"This really was a despicable crime especially at this time of year. If you were in the area and saw anyone acting suspiciously or have information about the heartless thief who committed the housebreaking, I would urge you to get in touch with me as soon as possible via 101."
